New String Checker Installation Tool Announced Wednesday, 6/30/2010 SolarBOS is pleased to announce its String Checker installation tool, now available for sale in North America. The String Checker gives system installers a way to check both the Open Circuit Voltage and Short Circuit Current with a purpose-built multi-meter that clips into a SolarBOS combiner box. This new product incorporates a 600 VDC load-break contactor into the combiner box, allowing system operators to remotely disconnect combiners under load and de-energize the conductors from the combiners to the inverter.
