SolarBOS unveils new Disconnect Array Combiners at Solar Power International 2011

LIVERMORE, CA, 2011 - SolarBOS, Inc., a leader in electrical 'Balance of System' solutions for the solar industry, will be unveiling their new line of Array Combiners at Solar Power International 2011 (Booth #915) in Dallas, TX, from October 17-20. The new Array Combiners (sometimes called ReCombiners) are rated for up to 2500 amps at either 600 or 1000 VDC and can be configured with disconnects, contactors, current sensors, and/or ground fault detection options. The disconnect option, either load-break or non load-break (pictured), allows system integrators to meet the new fuse servicing requirements of NEC 690.16. Additionally, the new Array Combiners utilize the new compact solar fuses which save space and reduce manufacturing costs.

SolarBOS Passes Arc Fault Testing in Livermore, CA

SolarBOS Inc., a developer of Balance of System solutions for the solar energy industry, is pleased to announce that their new Arc Fault Detection & Interruption (AFDI) combiner passed internal testing on 24 June 2011. The tests were conducted using a setup similar to that described in the latest draft of UL 1699B. The combiner box successfully detected and interrupted several arcs of various currents well within the time limits described in the standard. The tests were conducted using a 600 VDC PV array at SolarBOS' production facility in Livermore, CA.

New String Checker Installation Tool Announced

SolarBOS is pleased to announce its String Checker installation tool, now available for sale in North America. The String Checker gives system installers a way to check both the Open Circuit Voltage and Short Circuit Current with a purpose-built multi-meter that clips into a SolarBOS combiner box.
